For Halloween of this year I decided to do a series of pictures of a small grim reaper with a scythe that was a large sword on a pole. Like Starter Red, the smol reaper had his origins during my high school years. Back then I was a member of the school’s anime/manga club and as a way to raise money for the club I proposed that we could sell t-shirts with silk-screen designs printed on them. Among the designs I made for this venture was a small grim reaper inspired by the manga of Tite Kubo and Rumiko Takahashi. Although I made some prints of the reaper for my AP Studio class the t-shirts ultimately never got made and the reaper fell into obscurity as a result. Since the smol reaper dated around the same time I conceived Tetsuno/Starter Red I felt he also warranted a comeback as well.
